Las bioéticas laicas

Abstract

Bajo la expresión “bioéticas laicas” se agrupan una serie de pensadores y corrientes cuyo elemento en común parece ser “etsi Deus non daretur”. Sin embargo, un análisis más detenido muestra no sólo pluralismo sino también antagonismos insolubles dentro del propio campo laicista. Por un lado, determinadas posiciones cristianas se han permeado de laicismo, a la vez que podemos hallar reminiscencias panteístas en ciertas corrientes materialistas. Por otro, las bioéticas laicas han llegado tarde al discurso bioético, por lo que han acompasado el cambio de rumbo de esta disciplina. A finales del siglo XX se temía la pérdida de biodiversidad; a comienzos del XXI el temor lo representa su aumento, incluida nuestra posible biodiversificación. En definitiva, se puede afirmar que la bioética originaria ha evolucionado hasta hacerse irreconocible, y que gran parte de la responsabilidad es imputable a las corrientes laicas y sus preguntas, demandas y proyectos.

Under the expression "lay bioethics" many thinkers are grouped which seem to share the idea that "etsi Deus non daretur ". Nevertheless, a more careful analysis shows not only pluralism but also insoluble antagonisms inside the own field lay. On the one hand, some Christian positions are infiltrate of laity, and we can even find pantheistic reminiscences in certain materialistic way. On the other, lay bioethics have been late to the bioethical speech, for what they have shared the change of course of this discipline. At the end of the 20th century people were afraid of the loss of biodiversity, but at the beginning of the XXIst the problem is the increase of it, including our possible biodiversification. Definitively, it is possible to affirm that the original bioethics has evolved up to becoming unrecognizable, and that a great part of the responsibility is attributable to the lay way of thinking and its questions and projects.
