Un mirador para la Giralda

Abstract

Con este trabajo queda identificado no sólo el enamoramiento de Amalio García del Moral por Sevilla, sino ofrecer una muestra más de lo que los sevillanos saben decir de su ciudad. Los sevillanos que viven en Sevilla ahorran así a los nostálgicos exiliados el trabajo de evocar a Sevilla en la lejanía. Son los habituales, los residentes, quienes la cantan. He querido comenzar este artículo con evocaciones y citas y compartir con todos las propias palabras de Amalio con las que intenta hacernos llegar sus sentimientos y sensaciones sobre la Giralda, publicadas en algunos de sus libros de poemas. No hay como saber de primera mano las motivaciones de un artista para elaborar su arte. Siempre es difícil poner en palabras lo que el espíritu siente, pero en el caso de Amalio tenemos suerte ya que, además de ser pintor, es poeta y los poetas son los elegidos para poner al espíritu en contacto con la realidad.

This work not only identifies Amalio García del Moral's love for Seville, but also offers another example of what Sevillians know how to say about their city. The Sevillians who live in Seville save the nostalgic exiles the trouble of evoking Seville from afar. It is the regulars, the residents, who sing it. I wanted to begin this article with evocations and quotes and share with everyone Amalio's own words with which he tries to let us know his feelings and sensations about the Giralda, published in some of his books of poems. There is nothing like knowing first hand the motivations of an artist to elaborate his art. It is always difficult to put into words what the spirit feels, but in the case of Amalio we are lucky because, besides being a painter, he is a poet and poets are the ones chosen to put the spirit in contact with reality.
