Creencias y actitudes de los sevillanos hacia la variedad lingüística chilena

Abstract

Siguiendo la metodología del Proyecto para el estudio de las creencias y actitudes hacia las variedades del español en el siglo XXI (PRECAVES XXI), en esta investigación se analizó la percepción que tienen los sevillanos, hablantes de la variedad andaluza, de la modalidad dialectal chilena. Los resultados obtenidos a partir del sondeo de 108 sujetos, distribuidos según sexo, edad y nivel de estudios, mostraron que: 1) la variedad chilena no se incluyó entre los modelos de prestigio lingüístico que contemplaron los encuestados; 2) el grado de identificación de esta modalidad geolectal fue bajo y a menudo se confundió con las otras variedades hispanoamericanas; 3) las valoraciones directas e indirectas arrojaron creencias y actitudes bastante positivas; y 4) en ocasiones, las características sociales de los encuestados condicionaron sus opiniones.

Following the methodology of the Project for the study of beliefs and attitudes towards the varieties of Spanish in the 21st century (PRECAVES XXI), the perception that Sevillians, speakers of the Andalusian variety, have of the Chilean dialect was analysed in this research. The results obtained from the survey of 108 subjects, distributed according to sex, age and educational level, showed that: 1) the Chilean variety was not included among the models of linguistic prestige contemplated by the respondents; 2) the degree of identification of this geolectal modality was low and it was often confused with the other Spanish-American varieties; 3) the direct and indirect valuations yielded rather positive beliefs and attitudes; and 4) sometimes, the social features of the respondents conditioned their opinions.
