Consideraciones estéticas y éticas sobre el culturismo

Abstract

El culturismo se presenta en la actualidad como un fenómeno en auge, cuyo espacio se va incrementando más allá de las tarimas de competición. Cada vez son más los culturistas que se dan a conocer a través de internet, donde paulatinamente aumenta el número de jóvenes que consume contenido alrededor de este fenómeno. Si bien ya existen estudios acerca del culturismo desde otros ámbitos, principalmente desde las ciencias de la salud y el deporte, se han dejado desatendidas otras cuestiones de importancia, que deben ser tratadas directamente. Este trabajo se escribe con el objetivo de establecer un acercamiento a estas cuestiones, que surgen a raíz del progresivo auge del culturismo, desde el enfoque de las disciplinas filosóficas de la ética y la estética. Se propone en este trabajo una aproximación, con ánimo de abrir debate, en torno a las siguientes preguntas: qué es el culturismo, cómo debemos actuar con respecto a este, y cómo se relacionan arte y culturismo.

Bodybuilding is currently presented as a booming phenomenon, expanding its limits beyond the competition stages. More and more bodybuilders are making themselves known through the Internet, where the quantity of young people who consume content around this phenomenon gradually increases. Although there are already some studies about bodybuilding from other areas, mainly from health and sports sciences, other important issues have been left unattended, which must be addressed directly. This work is written with the will of establishing debates around these issues, which arise as a result of the progressive rise of bodybuilding, from the perspective of the philosophical disciplines of ethics and aesthetics. In this work, an approach is proposed with the aim of opening debate around the following questions: what is bodybuilding, how we should act around it, and how art and bodybuilding relate to each other.
