Sobre el hablar franco en la era de la posverdad

Abstract

El presente trabajo pretende analizar críticamente la noción de posverdad desde la metodología desplegada por Michel Foucault en los últimos cursos que imparte en el Collège de France. Estos cursos dictados por el filósofo francés describen una serie de “prácticas de sí” históricamente situadas que se inscriben en el marco general de su trabajo sobre la historia de las relaciones entre subjetividad y verdad. Concretamente nos acercaremos a los conceptos de parrhesía y epiméleia heautóu; en su estudio podemos observar que se problematiza la verdad desde el apartado ético. Esta investigación sobre ambos conceptos griegos abre la posibilidad de entender el problema de la verdad desde una perspectiva diferente, esto es, enfocado desde la relación del sujeto consigo mismo y con los demás. Por otra parte, extender esta metodología al análisis de la posverdad nos lleva a pensar este fenómeno como una mala relación de los sujetos consigo mismos que delegan esa responsabilidad a otros directores de conciencia. Para comprender la amplitud de la cuestión de la posverdad, la segunda parte de la investigación revisa la relación Modernidad-Postmodernidad con el objetivo de desarticular esta noción. Por último, reflexionaremos sobre como extender estas ideas al ámbito de la comunicación social, lugar de encuentro entre los sujetos y la verdad en nuestro presente.

This paper aims to critically analyze the notion of post-truth from the methodology deployed by Michel Foucault in the last courses he teaches at the Collège de France. These courses taught by the French philosopher describe a series of historically situated “practices of the self” that are part of the general framework of his work on the history of the relationship between subjectivity and truth. Specifically, we will approach the concepts of parrhesía and epiméleia heautóu; In his study we can observe that the truth is problematized from the ethical point of view. This research on both Greek concepts opens the possibility of understanding the problem of truth from a different perspective, that is, focused from the relationship of the subject with himself and with others. On the other hand, extending this methodology to the analysis of post-truth leads us to think of this phenomenon as a bad relationship of the subjects with themselves who delegate that responsibility to other directors of conscience. To understand the breadth of the post-truth issue, the second part of the research reviews the Modernism-Postmodernism relationship with the aim of dismantling this notion. Finally, we will reflect on how to extend these ideas to the field of social communication, a meeting place between subjects and truth in our present.
