Las brujas, topos feminista en la poesía escrita por mujeres a principios del siglo XXI. Un enfoque panhispánico

Abstract

El comienzo del siglo XXI asiste a la continuación de una tendencia iniciada en el anterior en el panorama poético de los países hispanohablantes: el rescate, en obras de autoría femenina, de personajes y arquetipos despreciados en la memoria popular. Entre estos personajes destacan brujas, hechiceras y poseedoras de conocimientos ocultos, que aparecen como figuras que las jóvenes poetas utilizan en sus obras con vistas a rehabilitarlas. A partir de una muestra representativa de esta producción, tanto en España como en Latinoamérica, veremos cómo la presencia de las brujas en la poesía femenina actual puede explicar el interés de los movimientos feministas por estas figuras, al tiempo que lo amplía y contribuye a su popularidad. Veremos, también, cómo las estrategias discursivas empleadas en poemas sobre las brujas ponen de manifiesto la idea de cohesión que se desprende de las luchas feministas actuales en muchos países de habla hispana, a la vez que denuncian las violencias ejercidas por el patriarcado sobre mujeres en la historia de sus respectivas zonas geográficas.

The beginning of the 21st century sees the continuation of a trend in the poetic panorama of Spanish-speaking countries that began in the previous one: the redemption, in poetry volumes written by women, of characters and archetypes despised in popular memory. Witches, sorceresses and possessors of occult knowledge are among the figures that young poets include in their works, with a view to rehabilitate them. From a representative sample of these works, both in Spain and Latin America, we will see how the presence of witches in today’s female-written poetry can explain various feminist movements’ interest in these figures, while at the same time broadening it and contributing to their popularity. We will also see how the discursive strategies employed in poems that feature these figures highlight the idea of cohesion that emerges from current feminist struggles in many Spanish-speaking countries, while denouncing the violence exercised by the patriarchy on women in the history of their respective geographical areas.
