La investigación “Aprendizaje del docente dominicano: procesos, actividades e
importancia pedagógica de su transferencia” buscó analizar procesos y actividades de aprendizaje
del docente dominicano de Primaria y la percepción que existe en cuanto a la transferencia de lo
aprendido.
Como no se conocen antecedentes de estudios de este tema en el contexto dominicano, fue
pertinente el estudio de lo relativo a las actividades (formales, no formales e informales) que
cohabitan de manera natural a lo largo de la formación continua del docente. Frente al interrogante
“cómo aprenden los docentes dominicanos”, con esta propuesta se pudo describir los procesos de
aprendizajes, identificar las actividades de aprendizaje en las que participan y cuáles prefieren, así
como analizar la percepción respecto de la transferencia de los aprendizajes construidos. Desde el
punto de vista práctico se propone una alternativa metodológica para el diseño y desarrollo de
programas de formación continua.
Para buscar respuesta a la interrogante planteada, mediante esta investigación se realizó un
estudio de caso múltiple, desde una perspectiva sociocrítica, fundamentalmente en la fase intensiva
del estudio. Esta aporta a la reflexión acerca de los procesos y actividades de aprendizaje, no solo
institucionales, sino en las que participan los docentes en su aprendizaje continuo y extra
académico. La investigación es transversal, descriptiva y de enfoque predominantemente
cualitativo; se parte de una fase extensiva que responde a lo cuantitativo con un cuestionario
exploratorio. En la fase de profundización se utiliza el análisis de contenido, la entrevista en
profundidad y el grupo focal. Los hallazgos y conclusiones de la presente investigación dejan evidencias de que el
docente aprende, sobre todo, desde los espacios informales y que las actividades con las que
aprenden pueden ser formales, no formales e informales, con preeminencia de estas últimas. Se
comprueba que sus actividades preferidas para aprender son las que propician un alto nivel de
interacción sociocultural.
Desde el punto de vista teórico, con este estudio se aportan elementos básicos para el
análisis de las actividades de aprendizaje del docente: Paralelo entre el Modelo 70-20-10 de
Lombardo y Eichinger (1996) y la clasificación de actividades de aprendizaje de formales, no
formales e informales de Colardyn y Bjornavold (2004); las dimensiones del proceso de
aprendizaje y sus variantes correspondientes; la definición de los momentos por los que transita la
formación continua del docente y el triángulo interactivo del aprendizaje del docente que incluye:
docente-aprendiz, competencias y espacio sociocultural.
Desde el punto de vista metodológico aporta un procedimiento apegado al paradigma
hermenéutico-interpretativo, con interpretaciones a partir de operaciones lógico-semánticas y el
formulario AcdeA para la determinación de principales actividades a través de las cuales aprende
el maestro. Mientras, desde una perspectiva práctica deja la compilación de las principales
actividades de aprendizaje en las que participan los docentes y una propuesta de alternativa
metodológica para el diseño y desarrollo de programas de formación continua de docentes. Desde
el punto de vista práctico, a partir de los resultados alcanzados, aparecen las principales actividades
de aprendizaje del docente; también, una propuesta de alternativa metodológica que podría ser de
utilidad para el diseño y desarrollo de programas de formación docente.
De cara a futuros trabajos, sería útil indagar acerca de la posible influencia de factores
como la edad, sexo y lugar de residencia en el tipo de actividad de aprendizaje que prefieren los
docentes. También, acerca del apoyo desde las instituciones a los docentes en ejercicio para la
organización del tiempo de aprendizaje y sobre las barreras que obstaculizan la individualización
de la formación del docente en ejercicio.
