China is one of the most important powers in the global economic and geopolitical overview nowadays. One of the reasons for that relevance lies in the huge economic growth that it has been experienced during the last decades, after the aperture of China to the global market and the abandonment of Maoist practices such as the limitations on private property. This aperture has also promoted the emigration of millions of Chinese citizens to foreign countries with the aim of founding their own companies and improve their economic capacity, as well as sending remittances of these benefits to the country of origin. 4 The appearance of these Chinese transnational communities has generated a major impact on the destination countries, including Spain, which has a long historical record of taking in Chinese migrants. Among the most problematic bearings generated in Spain, issues as social integration, isolation in the ethnic niches, cultural conflicts, relations between Chinese citizens and the Spanish society, xenophobia, as well as the raising and the integration of the second-generation Chinese can be counted in. |
