El mito de Ifigenia en las letras hispánicas: de las recreaciones medievales a las lecturas ilustradas

Abstract

La Tesis Doctoral que ahora se presenta aborda como tema principal el estudio del mito de Ifigenia en las letras hispánicas. A pesar del gran interés que ha despertado a lo largo de distintas épocas y autores, la pervivencia de este mito todavía no ha sido analizada de manera monográfica dentro de las letras hispánicas, por lo que esta Tesis viene a cubrir un vacío importante dentro de los estudios de mitocrítica. Para ello, en primer lugar, vamos a llevar a cabo un repaso de la tradición literaria y artística europea de este mito, desde sus orígenes hasta el siglo XVIII. De este modo, trataremos, por un lado, de ofrecer un repositorio histórico que incluya las diferentes formas de interpretar este mito clásico en el mundo hispánico, y de trazar las fuentes y las redes de influencias de nuestro corpus de textos. En segundo lugar, plantearemos un análisis tematológico de los aspectos fundamentales del mito, que atienda también a las circunstancias históricas y las diferencias entre las cosmovisiones de los distintos autores. Para poder llevar cabo este análisis, estableceremos cuatro ejes interpretativos fundamentales: religioso, político, femenino y metapoético. Mediante esta división cuatripartita subrayaremos los aspectos que han tenido más relevancia dentro de la tradición hispánica, y examinaremos su evolución histórica. Finalmente, ofreceremos la edición de la Fábula del sacrificio de Ifigenia de Luis Verdejo Ladrón de Guevara, una de las obras más importantes dentro de la tradición hispánica del mito de Ifigenia.

The PhD that is now presented deals with the study of the myth of Iphigenia in Spanish literature as its main subject. In spite of the great interest that it has awaken throughout different times and authors, the survival of this myth has not yet been analyzed monographically, thus this investigation fills an important gap within the studies of Myth Criticism. To this end, we will firstly carry out a review of the European literary and artistic tradition of this myth, from its origins to the eighteenth century. In this way, we will try, on the one hand, to offer a historical repository that includes the different ways of interpreting this classic myth in the Spanish world, and to trace the sources and networks of influences of our corpus of texts. Secondly, we propose a thematic analysis of the fundamental aspects of the myth, which also takes into account the historical circumstances and the differences between the world views of the different authors. In order to carry out this analysis, we establish four fundamental axes: religious, political, feminine and metapoetic. By means of this quadripartite division, we will highlight the aspects that have had more relevance within the Spanish tradition, and we will examine their historical evolution. Finally, we will offer the edition of the Fábula del sacrificio de Ifigenia by Luis Verdejo Ladrón de Guevara, one of the most important works within the Spanish tradition of the myth of Iphigenia.
