The following dissertation analyses the current status of geographic and statistical data sources that can be used to optimize the distribution in shared electrical scooters, focusing specifically, as an urban example, in the city of Sevilla. For the purpose of the study, both existing official and unofficial geographical and statistical datasets that provide information on the movement of people across the city of Seville were checked. The objective was to try to find Origin-Destiny matrices that were as updated as possible, even analyzing the possibility of obtaining real-time O-D matrices, which would only be possible due to the recent evolution of geolocalisation systems and the gathering of this data by certain applications. Information from other studies and demand surveys on this type of vehicle was also used, trying to define variables and parameters that define the profile of people that would be more attracted to use these means of transportation. Finally, the existing socioeconomic information on people from specific geographic locations, like census tracts, was analyzed to try to cross data with census sections containing the defined profiles and Origin-Destiny matrices. With all data, a map of census sections with higher and lower demand could be created. |
