La serpiente y su trazo : Relaciones de pertenencia entre el tatuaje y el dibujo

Abstract

El tema principal de este Trabajo de Fin de Grado versa sobre el tatuaje y su finalidad a la hora de identificarlo como medio artístico, sus influencias y su contexto histórico. Se pretende establecer una relación entre el mismo y la forma propia de trabajar, en la que pueden apreciarse influencias metodológicas del artista, siempre concibiéndolo desde distintas perspectivas y relacionándolo con el dibujo. Este desarrollo teórico se va a centrar tanto en el proceso de la obra como en sus condicionantes intrínsecos; se abordarán también sus posibles aplicaciones y, entre ellas, la implicación fundamental que toma parte a la hora de establecer la base de la obra del artista en todos sus campos ya sea o bien en el diseño, o en la acción del tatuaje. Se debe tener en cuenta la evolución cronológica del tatuaje a lo largo de la historia de la humanidad, ya que, dependiendo de la época o la ubicación, ha sido aceptado o repudiado por los colectivos. Entonces, se entiende que el contexto histórico-social define lo que será el discurso del tatuaje, así como los materiales que se empleen en su desarrollo. A lo largo de este proyecto, una vez se descubra la metodología del artista, se procederá a desarrollar el proyecto creativo, el cual tendrá como centro el motivo de las serpientes, su forma y su sentido. Para ello, se van a establecer unos antecedentes teórico-prácticos que serán la clave que conforme la obra final y entre los que encontramos: el tatuaje como símbolo de identificación social marginal en el Japón del s. V a.C., o la tendencia actual de identificación personal por medio del tatuaje.

The main subject of this research could be to investigate the question of tattoos and its purpose when it comes to identifying it as an artistic way of expression, its influences and its historical context. The aim is to establish a relationship between tattooing and its way to work, where the artist's methodological influences can be appreciated. This process always is conceived from different perspectives throughout the project and put in relation to the artistic discipline of drawing. This theoretical framework will focus both on the process of the work and on its intrinsic conditioning factors. The possible applications will also be addressed and, among them, the fundamental implication that takes part in establishing the basis of the artist's work in all its fields, either in design or in tattooing. The chronological evolution of the tattoo throughout the history of humanity must be taken into account, since, depending on the time or location, it has been accepted or repudiated by social collectives. Then, it is understood that the historical-social context defines what the tattoo speech will be, as well as the materials that are used in its construction. Throughout this project, once the artist's methodology is discovered, the creative project will be developed, which will focus on the motif of the snakes, their shape and their meaning. For this, a theoretical-practical background will be established that will be the key that forms the final work and among which we find: the tattoo as a symbol of marginal social identification in Japan of the s. V B.C., or the current trend of personal identification through tattoos.
