Mi maquillaje, Mi identidad

Abstract

“Mi maquillaje, Mi identidad” es un proyecto que hemos basado en la investigación de los conceptos identidad y maquillaje. En él, hemos pretendido defender la postura del maquillaje como un estilo artístico, además de demostrar cómo éste tiene el poder de modificar la identidad de una persona. Hemos realizado nuestra investigación planteándola como un juego de auto-representación que muestra cómo si el maquillaje va cambiando la técnica, como consecuencia, también lo hace la identidad, y lo demostraremos a través de una serie de fotografías. Este proyecto nos ha llevado a la exploración del maquillaje a nivel técnico, así como las diferentes posibilidades que nos ofrecen los distintos materiales. Hemos estudiado el término fisionomía y cómo las personas percibimos las diferentes partes del rostro, como apreciamos la identidad, y cómo esta puede verse modificada por el maquillaje bajo el concepto de la piel como soporte. Además durante la investigación hemos tenido la oportunidad de vivir, en primera persona, un proceso de autoconocimiento que ha hecho de esta experiencia algo productivo y beneficioso a todos los niveles. Hemos llegado a la conclusión, de que el maquillaje debería ser más valorado en el mundo del arte, ya que a nivel técnico se basa en un conjunto de técnicas que parten de otras disciplinas, y a nivel de expresión plástica, tiene el mismo poder que cualquier otra técnica artística.

“My makeup, My identity" is a new project that shows concepts of identity and makeup together through deep research. We have tried to prove the goal of makeup as an artistic style, in addition to demonstrating how it has the power to make changes in the identity of a person. We have based our investigation as a self-representation game that will show if a person changes their makeup technique, as a consequence, so does their identity, and we can demonstrate it through a series of photographs. This project has led us to explore makeup on a more technical level and the different possibilities offered by different materials. We have studied the term physiognomy and how people perceive different parts of the face, how we appreciate identity of the subject, and how it can be modified by makeup under the concept of skin care as support. Besides, during the research we have had the opportunity to experience first hand the process of self-knowledge that has made this experience something productive and beneficial at all levels. We have come to the conclusion that makeup should be more valued in the art world, since they shared some technical levels and most of it is based on a set of techniques that come from other disciplines. Even at the level of plastic expression, the it has the same power as any another artistic technique.
