to the signaling function of reactive oxygen species ... Plant acclimation to environmental conditions involves multiple interactions between hormones and other signaling molecules. A lot of attention has been devoted to the signaling function of reactive oxygen species and their relationships to thiol-dependent redox regulations. Recently, new developments in proteomic techniques have revealed the relevant signaling effect of reactive nitrogen species and reactive sulfur species. Together, they cause post-translational modifications in proteins that participate in signaling networks, such as those responding to hormones, allowing the rapid response of plants to environmental cues. |
