2007 marked an important change in the Spanish Economy. As a result of the bursting of the property bubble in addition to the ever-increasing developments in technology, the shared economy has been gaining presence. This new business model has brought about a change with its goals of providing consumers and users with heterogeneous goods and services at a lower price than previous models. The service provider has become a “prosumer” as a consequence of the fact that the service distribution channel has been reduced to a B2C channel that is achieving a direct distribution between the manufacturer and the target. This project is going to review what the meaning of a sharing economy is and how it affects the tourism sector. We will focus on analyzing activities and companies which provide transport and accommodation services to citizens
