Más allá de los manifiestos artísticos: "La deshumanización del arte" de Ortega y Gasset como meditación sobre el arte

Abstract

El objetivo de este artículo es pensar la esencia del arte en la filosofía de Ortega a partir de su libro La deshumanización del arte. El arte es para Ortega ante todo, como forma de la cultura, una interpretación del texto vital. Pero La deshumanización del arte no es un manifiesto de las vanguardias artísticas de principios del s. XX, sino una meditación sobre la esencia del arte. La meditación es la forma de pensar de la filosofía de la razón vital de Ortega. En La deshumanización del arte, Ortega concibe el arte como isla ingrávida rodeada de realidad. Esto significa que el arte esencialmente es arte artístico, es decir, desrealización de la realidad y realización de la irrealidad

The aim of this paper is to think the essence of art in the philosophy of Ortega from his book La deshumanización del arte. Art is for Ortega above all, as cultural form, an interpretation of life’s text. But La deshumanización del arte isn’t a manifesto of artistic avant-gardes at the beginning of the 20th century, but a meditation on the essence of art. Meditation is the form of thinking of Ortega’s philosophy of vital reason. In La deshumanización del arte, Ortega conceives art as floating island surrounded by reality. This means that art is essentially artistic art, that is, derealization of reality and realization of irrealit.
