Crebillón Fils, terra incognita en el panorama literario francés del siglo XVIII

Abstract

This article presents a synthetic view of the biobibliography of Crébillon Fíls - wrongly considered a «second rate author»- . lt offers a reference to libertinism through a brief history of its evolution, based on the evolution of the term itself. We try to contribute to consolidate the importance of this libertine writer within the general frame of 18th century French Literature, as well as to evidence the relevance of his writings, as far as the spread and evolution of libertinisrn is concerned, and the figure of the libertine as philosophic, ethical and aesthetic keys to the Gallant Century.
