In this project, two Python-based methodologies for the study and simulation of short circuits in railway networks are presented. Using matrix analysis and the OpenDSS software, it is possible to create and simulate a fault in any possible configuration of railway traction systems with 25kVac power supply. Given the maximum length of the network, the maximum distance between the auto-transformation centers and the consumption of the rolling stock, the tools developed in this project allow us the construction of the railway network model and its entire feed system. Throughout an iterative execution, the fault is simulated along all the network. In this way, in each iteration, all the values of interest resulting from the fault are obtained. Two different computation tools are developed with the aim of comparing the results and guarantee their reliability. The values obtained are not only useful to understand the effects of the faults in the railway system, but also for the system planning and optimization. |
