dc.description.abstract | Humanity has the great fortune of being able to appreciate paintings, sculptures, objects, etc.,
of ancient civilizations; This is due to the fact that, in the past, there were people who tried to
keep such works of art in good condition.
From cave paintings to modern works of art, different artists have tried to preserve their art in
different ways. For this, they used raw materials resistant to the passage of time, but, in
addition, for conservation to be successful, they had to take into account the conditions of
temperature and relative humidity to which the piece would be subject.
At present, works of art are subject to strict control, and in order to carry out this control,
exhaustive studies must be carried out to verify if they comply with the technical specifications
dictated by current legislation on heritage conservation.
These works of art are always linked to buildings, true containers of them and, as such,
influential in their state of conservation. Therefore, the control and study of buildings that
contain works of art is fundamental. In this case, the environmental study of them will affect
these works of art. This aspect is the one addressed in the present work.
In this Final Year Project, the hygrothermal and energetic study of the chapel of the University
of Seville is carried out, where important works of art of the university heritage are carried out,
and measures are studied to improve the optimal environmental conditions of conservation of
the works. Of art that are inside the building. | es |
