De Big Brother a Big Data: reflexiones a propósito de Im Schwarm. Ansichten des Digitalen de Byung-Chul Han [Reseña]

Abstract

En Im Schwarm. Ansichten des Digitalen Byung-Chul Han analiza la inecuación que hoy día se da entre las necesidades de la sociedad de la información y la reificación que producen las distintas estructuras que permean el espacio del poder. La revolución digital opera una radical desvinculación óntica al transformar en una muchedumbre o enjambre las distintas formas de agrupación humana, enjambre incapaz de articular una sólida acción común a través del tiempo. En estas consideraciones intento, primero, explicar los aspectos centrales de la obra de Han para, a continuación, repasar críticamente algunos de sus postulados y, por último, examinar la traducción castellana publicada por la editorial Herder en 2014.

In Im Schwarm. Ansichten des Digitalen Byung-Chul Han examines the current mismatch between the new requirements of the information society and the reification that power structures produce. The digital revolution operates a radical ontic disassociation by transforming the different forms of human grouping into a crowd or swarm incapable of articulating a solid common action over time. In this reflections I try, first, to explain the central aspects of Han’s work, then to critically review some of his postulates and finally to examine the Spanish translation published by Herder in 2014.
