La integración del medio ambiente en la dirección de operaciones: un análisis en la industria española

Abstract

Environmental issues have become one of the primary causes of global interest. From a managerial point view we are assisting to the consideration of environmental matters in strategic terms, because the firms are not only which caused the environmental problem but also the firms are some parts of the solution, conciliating standards of production and consumption. Now then, are the environmental issues an important concern in the firm? Or are the environmental issues, solely, a reflection of normative, regulations, social or stakeholders pressuring? It is the functional area of operations where are reflected the environmental actions of the firm. Furthermore it was natural that the managers taken control of moved the environmental objective to operations activity. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the importance that the managers conferred to environment, and how this is reflected on the operations actuations. The empirical evidence supporting this investigation is gathered form the Spanish manufacturers of different industries.
