Correspondencia Leibniz-Huygens y los orígenes de la ciencia moderna.

Abstract

Esta tesis doctoral está centrada en ofrecer un análisis sistemático de la correspondencia entre G.W. Leibniz y Christiaan Huygens. A partir del estudio crítico de las cartas, ofrecemos un análisis de las discusiones que mantuvieron, así como de la influencia que ejercieron el uno en el otro y de cómo estas discusiones dieron forma al desarrollo de la ciencia moderna. Esta correspondencia nunca se ha traducido por completo y tampoco ha sido objeto de un análisis sistemático, a pesar de la importancia de la figura de Huygens para el desarrollo del pensamiento filosófico y científico de Leibniz, y de que la mayoría de las discusiones entre ellos tuvieron lugar en estas cartas.

This doctoral thesis is focused on providing a systematical analysis of the correspondence between G.W. Leibniz and Christiaan Huygens. Beginning with a critical study of the letters, we provide an analysis of the debates they maintained, as well as how these discussions shaped the development of modern science. The exchange of letters between Leibniz and Huygens has never been fully translated, neither has it been the object of a full analysis, despite the importance of the figure of Huygens in the development of Leibniz's philosophical and scientific thought, and that the majority of their discussions took place in their correspondence.
