dc.description.abstract | The challenges SMEs (small and medium enterprises) have to confront to maintain themselves in an
open and dynamic market require the design of strategies which will allow them to be competitive and
enter new markets without losing their autonomy. In this context, business cooperation is presented as
an ideal formula of internationalisation. In this paper and by exposing in a practical case those
operations which present the biggest peculiarities we intend to, on one hand, present the characteristics
that make EEIG the ideal legal figure to canalise agreements of cooperation in the bosom of the EU,
and on the other hand, study the accounting aspects derived from the celebration of this kind of
agreements under the light of international legislation. The main conclusion we can draw from this
paper is that the treatment given by IASB to joint businesses reflects the essence of the operation, as it
shows the participant’s financial statements of shared control. | es |
