Objets: proyecto y maqueta en la obra de Le Corbusier

Abstract

La tesis doctoral “Objets: proyecto y maqueta en la Obra de Le Corbusier” propone un estudio del uso de la maqueta como instrumento de proyecto en la obra de Le Corbusier. A través del análisis de los procedimientos de fabricación de estos útiles de búsqueda e investigación plástica, se propicia una revisión de la obra del arquitecto-artista, en la que es observable ciertas transferencias de los procesos artísticos y artesanales de construcción de la maqueta a la arquitectura que está siendo gestada. Este hecho incardina el resultado de las conclusiones hacía las capacidades de la cultura de lo material en la arquitectura de Le Corbusier y de sus vínculos con las artes y los oficios, presentes en toda su carrera. Podría decirse que la tesis pretende, a través del estudio de estos materiales de trabajo y de naturaleza perecedera, aportar una luz sobre la búsqueda de la “Síntesis de las Artes” en la creación del franco-suizo, más allá de los puros postulados teóricos.

The PhD thesis “Objects: project and architectural model in the work of Le Corbusier” proposes a study of the use of the model as a project tool in the artistic career of the french-swiss architect. Through the analysis of techniques for making these tools devoted to the plastic research, a review of the architect-artist is provided. Here, we can check transfers from artistic know-how and craft construction of the model to the architecture that is being conceived. This fact leads the research results and conclusions towards a “Culture of matter” in the architecture of Le Corbusier, while enabling links with arts and crafts, present throughout his career. Arguably the thesis aims, through the study of these materials of perishable nature, provide a light on the search for the “Synthesis of Arts” in the creation of Le Corbusier, beyond the pure postulates theorists .
