This article intends to stablish and elucidate the sense of a group of compositions included in MS. 3857 of the Central Library of C. S. I. C. (Madrid), written against Lope during his stay in Seville between years 1602 and 1604. This collection of sonnets has the key of a very significant episode in Lope’s literary and vital trajectory, since it help us to explain the causes of the antipathy he produced among many writers in the Andalusian city. The study of this information has allowed to relate the compositions of the «Cartapacio» in which these sonnets are included to those previously quoted that were written against Lope, and that maybe he had himself in mind the «sonetazos» he was victim of. It is not possible by now to clarify what names are behind this «sonetada» due to the difficulties of the anonymity of these texts, a common feature of the transmission of satiric poetry in the Spanish Golden Age. |
