Allí en Europa, aquí en América: la ciudad como espacio de reivindicación y aprendizaje. Estrategias creativas de abordaje: París y Valparaíso

Abstract

La segunda mitad del siglo XX es testigo de un redescubrimiento de la ciudad histórica junto con la puesta en crisis de los efectos que el urbanismo moderno ha tenido en nuestras formas de vida. Comenzando con los antecedentes históricos y la crítica de posguerra de la ciudad moderna, la investigación se centra en las prácticas experimentales creativas de contacto directo con la ciudad. Allí en Europa, aquí en América contrasta las metodologías de acción subversiva y analíticas, planteadas por los Letristas/Situacionistas y por la Escuela de Valparaíso, teniendo como hilo conductor el soporte físico de la ciudad y del territorio. Dérive y psichogéographie; phàlene y travesía; París y Valparaíso. El artículo propone un diálogo entre ambas experiencias, cuestionando la hegemonía europea y desvelando sus paralelismos, pero también reconociendo su especificidad y hallazgos propios.

The second half of the 20th Century witnessed the rediscovery of the historic city, along with the crisis of the effects Modern Urban Planning has had on our ways of life. Starting with the historic background and postwar criticism of the modern city, this study focused on the intellectual trends that have based their proposal on creative experimental practices in direct contact with the city. Allí en Europa, Aquí en América [Over there in Europe, Here in America], contrasts the subversive and analytical methodologies created by the Lettristes/Situationnistes and the School of Valparaíso, with the physical approach to the city and the territory as its main argument. Dérive and Psichogéographie; Phàlene and Travesía; Paris and Valparaíso. The article proposes a dialogue between the two experiences, questioning the European hegemony, unveiling their parallelisms, but also underscoring their singularities and contributions.
