dc.description.abstract | The Cervantes Theatre opened its doors in 1873, and it was not until years later that it was converted into a cinema. Throughout its existence, it has been responsible for hosting a wide variety of cultural shows. Currently, the Cervantes Cinema in Seville is the oldest cinema in the city. After a period in which it was closed due to the fall in cinema attendance caused by the pandemic and the rise of streaming platforms, the Cervantes Cinema was able to reopen its doors in October 2023. In this work, an analysis of the environment has been carried out, comparing the communication of the Cervantes Cinema with the communication of other cinemas in the Andalusian capital. In the same way, the film exhibition organisation Unión Cine Ciudad, to which Cervantes Cinema belongs, has been compared with the communication of UGC cinemas in France. The aim of these actions was to observe the strengths and weaknesses of the establishment being worked on. Following the conclusions drawn from these analyses, a proposal has been drawn up for the rebranding of the Cervantes Cinema, with the aim of revitalising such an emblematic place for culture, not only in Seville, but also in Andalusia. | es |
