mensajes informativos fragmentarios. Esta tesitura la compendiamos en una locución
metafórica de nuevo cuño: la ignorancia cognitiva. | es |
dc.description.abstract | Since its outbreak at the end of 2010, much has been written about the start, development, as
well as the repercussions of the Arab uprisings. Although the genesis of its unleashing continues
to be the subject of controversy, since the bulk of scientific literature in Spain and in the Arab
world only deals with its internal and external causes, thus skirting another thesis that advocates
foreign interference before and during the development of these lifts through the concatenation
of soft power and other hard power methods. In addition to dealing with the endogenous and
exogenous factors of the so-called Arab Spring, investigating both methods and determining
their creators, objectives and consequences turns out to be one of our objectives due to their
nature that is impalpable to the naked eye, which is why we call them: larvate factors. This
thesis lends itself, therefore, to analyzing from the beginning of the protests on December 17,
2010 until December 31, 2011, the coverage of El País and L'Opinion of the three factors in
question in their international and economy sections of informative genres: news, chronicle,
report, interview and report amounting to 1953 texts; in addition to addressing identification
and organizational issues of the journalistic story, as well as its origin. This analysis is made
possible thanks to the application of content analysis combining quantitative and qualitative
procedures to the agenda-setting of both newspapers. The results indicate that both El País and
L'Opinion use different ways to cover the uprisings, as well as different media to write them,
among other distinctions. The spanish newspaper, through its correspondents and special
envoys, offers its information as chronicles, while the moroccan newspaper does so via the
agencies, which is why it abounds in news. Despite this difference, endogenous factors and, to
a lesser extent, exogenous factors converge over larvate factors, whose treatment has been
irrelevant, if not almost non-existent. Thus, the agenda-setting of both newspapers reflects their
position regarding the germ that triggered these revolts, which has an impact on the public's
agenda when receiving fragmentary information messages. We summarize this situation in a
new metaphorical locution: cognitive ignorance. | es |
