Mexicas: historia y religión. Buscando nuevos enfoques

Abstract

El estudio de los mexicas supone un previo entendimiento de su historia, sus mitos y su manera de ver el mundo. Su llegada al Valle Central es un interesante punto de partida: por la conexión de la historia y la mitología; los modelos de poder que implantaron los mexicas y los que ya toman; y sobre todo por el tratamiento de las fuentes por los investigadores. Por otro lado, la cosmovisión mexica no puede entenderse sin analizar la mitología y la naturaleza de sus dioses. La historia y evolución de la religión nahuatl es un campo de estudio que plantea incógnitas, pero también ayuda a comprender el funcionamiento de su sociedad.

The mexica study supposes a previous understanding about their history, their myths and their way they saw the world. Their arrival to the Central Valley is an interesting starting point because of the connection between history and mythology, the models of power implemented by mexicas and those which they take, and above all, the way researchers treat the sources. On the other hand, the mexica worldview cannot be understood without analyzing the mythology and the nature of their gosd. The history and evolution of the nahuatl religión is a field of study that proposes unknows, but also helps to understand the functioning of their society.
