El paisaje como referente en la arquitectura contemporánea

Abstract

The landscape has become a reference point for architecture, which lacks the static and fixed qualities of premodern Nature. The landscape consists of a structure of relationships on different levels, which an architectural project reconstructs, while searching for its own sense of belonging, in terms of ethics, aesthetics, history and culture. The landscape overcomes the old distinction between the object and subject and is able to represent and signify a general harmony between aesthetic, economic, emotional and cultural values simultaneously. This in turn provokes an increasing and rational desire to understand the landscape among the subjects who witness it. The limits between the physical world and phenomena, which the illustrated vision has separated, may be seen in the landscape. This paper suggests that we should view the landscape as a figurative, parallel, emotional and, in short, a prototype or model of architecture.
