Género, patrimonio y ciudad. Imágenes y lugares de representación de la mujer en el siglo XIX en el Museo Provincial de Málaga

Abstract

El siglo XIX se revelará clave en los procesos tanto de pérdida de libertades como de la lenta recuperación de estos para la mujer, así como lo será en el origen de la ciudad industrial de Málaga. Esta dará paso a nuevos paradigmas que permitirán a la mujer aliviar la carga de las tareas del hogar, dando cabida a la posibilidad de tener acceso a la educación e incluso a la vocación filantrópica, al coleccionismo de arte, a la pintura y en general a las artes mayores. Será esta ciudad burguesa la que propicie nuevas necesidades y la que mediante su reconfiguración haga partícipe al círculo malagueño de artistas del XIX de su desarrollo y de sumar al patrimonio malagueño, propiciando las representaciones que nos acercarán en esta investigación al estudio de la imagen de la mujer en la pintura del siglo XIX de la Colección Permanente de Bellas Artes del Museo de Málaga.

The XIX century would reveal itself as a key factor in the processes of loss and win back of women´s rights, as well as for the origin of the industrial city of Málaga. This situation will bring new paradigms that will allow women to relieve themselves from the house chores, making the possibility of becoming something else real, as they are presented with the possibility of having an education or even the choice of becoming a philanthropist, an art connoisseur, a painter and all along access the Fine Arts. It would be this bourgeois city the one that provides new needs and, the one that would make the new becoming circle of XIX century painters in Málaga to take part in the process of developing by representing it through painting and as an addition to our actual heritage. Making possible our approach in this research by creating the representations that bring us closer to the images that represent women in the XIX century collection of Fine Arts in the Museo de Málaga.
