Cartografías de la danza: Transferencias entre danza y arquitectura

Abstract

Este trabajo surge del interés personal por el estudio de las disciplinas de la danza y de la arquitectura. Se busca por tanto un acercamiento entre ambas, a través de conceptos propios de la práctica, creación y composición coreográfica en la danza (como son el propio movimiento, el tiempo, el espacio, el ritmo y la forma), de manera que estos conceptos sean extrapolables al ámbito de la arquitectura y lo construido, conceptos aparentemente estáticos. De este modo, mediante dichos conceptos usados como metodología de análisis, se procederá a estudiar casos concretos donde existe una estrecha vinculación entre danza y arquitectura, a través de personalidades que, a priori, difieren mucho unas de otras, pero que se sirven de este vínculo para enriquecerse, explorar y llevar al límite de la investigación de ambas disciplinas. Además de buscar este acercamiento mediante conceptos que pueden relacionar danza y arquitectura, el estudio se enfoca fundamentalmente en el análisis de las formas de grafía, o sistemas de notación de la danza, ya que esto incluye la representación de los conceptos antes mencionados del espacio, movimiento, ritmo, tiempo y forma. Se estudiará la influencia que tiene la arquitectura sobre la danza en términos de representación. Es aquí donde la danza beberá de la arquitectura, para así poder representar, al igual que lo hace esta, el proceso de creación de movimiento y estudiar como lo ha hecho a lo largo del tiempo mediante su notación, como si de levantar un edificio se tratase, aunque en este caso se trate de un edificio vivo, el cuerpo.

This work arises from personal interest in the study of the disciplines of dance and architecture. A rapprochement is therefore sought between the two, through concepts proper to the practice, creation and choreographic composition in dance (such as the movement itself, time, space, rhythm and shape), so that these concepts can be extrapolated to the realm of architecture and the constructed, apparently static concepts. In this way, through these concepts used as a methodology of analysis, we will proceed to study concrete cases where there is a close link between dance and architecture, through personalities that a priori differ greatly from each other, but w ho use this link to enrich themselves, explore and bring to the limit of the research of both disciplines. In addition to seeking this approach through concepts that can relate dance and architecture, the study focuses fundamentally on the analysis of the forms of graphics, or systems of dance notation, since this includes the representation of the aforementioned concepts of space, movement, rhythm, time and shape. The influence of architecture on dance in terms of representation will be studied. It is here that the dance will drink of the architecture, in order to be able to represent, like this one, the process of creation of movement and to study as it has done throughout the time by means of its notation, as if to raise a building it were, although in this case it is a living building, the body.
