Muralismo contemporáneo en el Distrito San Pablo-Santa Justa: nuevos retos para su conservación preventiva

Abstract

En las siguientes páginas vamos a presentar nuestro Trabajo Final de Máster titulado “MURALISMO CONTEMPORÁNEO EN EL DISTRITO SAN PABLO-SANTA JUSTA: NUEVOS RETOS PARA SU CONSERVACIÓN PREVENTIVA”. A través de nuestra investigación hemos elaborado la primera base documental de los murales creados durante el evento Arte para Todos 2010 que nos ha ayudado a entender las circunstancias sobre las que nacieron estas obras, su naturaleza material, y todos aquellos aspectos que las han conducido a su estado de conservación actual. El propósito final de esta investigación es establecer las premisas de una estrategia de conservación del arte urbano que se traduzca en la elaboración de un Plan de Conservación Preventiva de los barrios A y B de San Pablo. Para alcanzar nuestros objetivos hemos utilizado una metodología histórica, descriptiva y explicativa que nos ha ayudado a resolver todas aquellas cuestiones que rodean las particularidades del origen de los murales de San Pablo, su tutela y su estado actual. Hemos combinado una amplia búsqueda bibliográfica con el análisis de investigaciones que responden a los mismos interrogantes. Una vez establecido el marco teórico, en la que se han reunido todos aquellos datos dispersos del objeto de estudio, se ha procedido a la generación de información inexistente hasta la fecha. A esto le ha seguido una fase analítica que nos ha ayudado a diagnosticar los murales. Para evaluar la gestión actual nos hemos servido de encuestas y entrevistas, acercándonos más a la realidad del barrio y su patrimonio artístico. Finalizamos el trabajo con un planteamiento y reflexión sobre la necesidad de elaborar una estrategia de conservación del arte urbano de Sevilla, utilizando los murales de San Pablo como eje central y la identificación de los primeros pasos a seguir en esta línea.

In the following pages we are going to present our Master's Final Project entitled "CONTEMPORARY MURALISM IN THE SAN PABLO DISTRICT: NEW CHALLENGES FOR ITS PREVENTIVE CONSERVATION". Through our research we have elaborated the first documentary base of the murals created during the Art for All 2010 event that has helped us to understand the circumstances under which these works were born, their material nature, and all those aspects that have led them to their current state of conservation. The final purpose of this research is to establish the premises of a conservation strategy for urban art that translates into the elaboration of a Preventive Conservation Plan for the A and B neighbourhoods of San Pablo. To achieve our objectives, we have used a historical, descriptive, and explanatory methodology that has helped us to resolve all those questions surrounding the particularities of the origin of the murals of San Pablo, their tutelage, and their current state. We have combined an extensive bibliographic search with the analysis of research that responds to the same questions. Once the theoretical framework was established, in which all the scattered data on the object of study were gathered, we proceeded to the generation of information that did not exist to date. This was followed by an analytical phase that helped us to diagnose the murals. To evaluate the current management, we have used surveys and interviews, getting closer to the reality of the neighbourhood and its artistic heritage. We conclude the work with an approach and reflection on the need to develop a conservation strategy for urban art in Seville, using the murals of San Pablo as a central axis and identifying the first steps to follow in this line.
