dc.description.abstract | The climate crisis we are experiencing, which is expected to worsen considerably in the coming decades, coupled
with the imminent depletion of fossil fuels and, recently, geopolitical conflicts that hinder fuel trade, have been
the breeding ground for the use of renewable energies and electric vehicles. Therefore, the aim of this dissertation
is to study and simulate one of the most novel electric vehicle proposals: the wireless charging of electric motors.
In this dissertation, the state of the art in electric vehicles will be analyzed and the aforementioned wireless
charging proposed in the PhD thesis of Dr. Roman Bosshard [1] will be reviewed, from which all the necessary
design data will be extracted. The charging system consists of 3 topologies: a three-phase rectifier connected to
the grid, a Dual Active Bridge converter by which will perform the inductive power, where coupled coils are
used instead of a high frequency transformer, one on the track and one on the pick-up of the EV, and a Buck +
Boost DC/DC converter to supply the necessary power to the vehicle battery. The operation of the charging
system must be bidirectional providing charge to the vehicle battery, but also being able to discharge the battery
and providing power to the grid, in order to realize a Vehicle to Grid (V2G) control strategy. For each topology,
a detailed and independent study of its operation and control strategy will be made. In addition, modifications
of system component parameters will be made to adapt it to the specifications of the design object of this
dissertation, which vary with respect to the reference model. Finally, a simulation and analysis of the results of
the complete system including the control algorithm proposed in [1] will be performed, verifying that the results
are as expected. | es |
