Pubmed, Google Schoolar, Scopus y Dialnet. Las palabras claves utilizadas fueron
“eruption”, “ectopic”, “first” y “molar”, unidos por el operador boleano AND.
dc.description.abstract | INTRODUCTION: Ectopic eruption of the first permanent molar is an eruptive
disorder of unknown aetiology that has possible consequences for the subsequent
development of the dental arch.
OBJECTIVES: The aims of this literature review were to determine the aetiology,
prevalence, types, diagnosis and treatment of ectopic eruption of the first permanent
molar.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Bibliographic review using Pubmed, Google
Schoolar, Scopus and Dialnet databases. The keywords used were "eruption", "ectopic",
"first" and "molar", joined by the AND operator.
RESULTS: The aetiology of this eruption pathology is not yet fully understood and
multiple factors are involved, including hereditary factors. The prevalence ranges from
1,3% to 6%, with a higher frequency in the maxilla and bilaterally. There are two types
of ectopic eruptions of the first permanent molar: reversible and irreversible. The
diagnosis of this eruptive disorder is made on the basis of clinical and radiographic
findings. Treatment of ectopic molars will vary according to the characteristics of the
ectopic eruption in each case.
CONCLUSIONS: Given the consequences arising from this eruptive pathology,
clinicians should pay special attention to establish an early diagnosis to enable early
treatment to be instituted | es |
