La mirada del conservador-restaurador sobre el patrimonio etnográfico: un diagnóstico en Rota

Abstract

La conservación de la tradición, de lo vernáculo, ha sido algo innato del ser humano desde que tiene uso de consciencia. La identidad, al fin y al cabo, es la espina dorsal de cualquier civilización fuerte que resista ante cualquier adversidad o cambio. El presente trabajo se centrará en un análisis de la definición del patrimonio que encierra, como un frasco, estas identidades: el patrimonio etnográfico. Se hablará también de la relación que tiene con su guardián, el conservador-restaurador. Con esta relación se pretende encontrar un espacio desde el que trabajar metodológicamente en pos de su protección y perpetuación. Con este objetivo, se presentará un diagnóstico del patrimonio etnográfico de la localidad de Rota, en Cádiz, y sobre el tipo de acciones que se han tomado con respecto a su conservación.

The conservation of tradition, of vernacular culture, has been something innate for humanity since it first had use of conscience. Identity, after all, is the spine of any resistant civilization upon adversity or global change. The following research will focus on an analysis of the type of heritage that engulfs these identities: Ethnographic Heritage. Another subject will be the relationship that it has with its guardian, the conservator-restorer. Upon this relationship the goal will be to find a space in which to work, following a specific method, leading towards the protection and perpetuation of this kind of heritage. With this in mind, a diagnose will be presented of how the town of Rota, Cádiz, has taken action when the time has come to conservate its own identity.
