Ilustración sin dominio y pensamiento altruista. La desmitologización de la ilustración en Adorno y Horkheimer

Abstract

Este artículo muestra cómo el proyecto de Adorno y Horkheimer de ilustrar la ilustración tiene como meta superar la dialéctica de la ilustración y lograr una ilustración sin dominio. La racionalización y desencantamiento que definen a la ilustración han convertido todo en objeto manipulable por el ser humano. En el mundo administrado ha llegado incluso a reducir al propio ser humano a objeto mediante su identitificación y desindividualización. Esto es la muerte del ser humano. La ilustración ha terminado en dominio, en un sistema totalitario. Auschwitz ha representado la culminación de esta comprensión del pensar como identificar. Salvar la ilustración es evitar esta dialéctica de la ilustración, desmitologizar la ilustración racionalizadora. Esto permite un pensar abierto y altruista, no identificador, ajeno al dominio y respetuoso con el ser humano individual.

This article shows how Adorno and Horkheimer’s project of enlighten the enlightenment has as goal to overcome the dialectic of enlightenment and achieve an enlightenment without domination. The rationalization and disenchantment that define enlightenment have turned everything into an object that can be manipulated by human beings. In the administered world it has even come to reduce the human being itself to an object by means of his identification and deindividualization. This is the death of the human being. Enlightenment has ended up in domination, in a totalitarian system. Auschwitz has represented the culmination of this understanding of thinking as identification. To save enlightenment is to avoid this dialectic of enlightenment, to demythologize the rationalizing enlightenment. This allows an open and altruistic thinking, which is non-identifying, alien to the domain and respectful of the individual human being.
