La Masonería en Málaga a finales del siglo XIX

Abstract

La presente Tesis Doctoral, titulada “La Masonería en Málaga a finales del siglo XIX” busca ser una investigación actualizadora de los conocimientos existentes en torno a la masonería malagueña del momento. Al ser la tercera provincia andaluza en importancia en cuanto al fenómeno masónico se refiere, y al estar muy poco investigada desde una metodología y perspectiva actual, consideramos que se hace necesaria una revisión que ponga dicha provincia donde se merece. Por ello, intentamos analizar el devenir y desarrollo de la masonería en Málaga a finales del XIX, para apreciar si se pueden aplicar a la misma las conclusiones generales impuestas para la masonería española y andaluza (volatilidad, inconstancia personal, desunión masónica, enfrentamientos, influencia en el mundo profano, etc.). Y con más motivo, cuando fue ese último tercio del XIX, cuando se vivió la etapa dorada de la masonería española.

This doctoral thesis, named “Freemasonry in Malaga at the end of the nineteenth century”, try to be a recent research about freemasonry in Malaga, whose aims is to provide new knowledge. Malaga is the third important province in Andalusia by number of masons and lodges. However, we think that this area needs a recent research that will provide new information by applying a new methodology. So, this doctoral thesis try to be a revision of this area for giving the place it deserves. We try to study freemasonry in Malaga at the end of the nineteenth century, to know if there can be applied the findings or conclusions that we have for Freemasonry in Spain (disunity, confrontation, plurality, influence on secular words, etc.). This is important, especially, if we become aware of this stage is the most importan for the freemasonry in Spain.
