Desarrollo del Puerto de Sevilla, desde un puerto Gateway hacia un centro industrial-logístico y corredor logístico al hinterland

Abstract

El Puerto de Sevilla es el único puerto marítimo interior en España. Su localización y su desarrollo han estado marcado por hechos históricos como el descubrimiento de América. En los últimos años, el desarrollo del puerto ha estado marcado por las tendencias del comercio internacional. Por ello, se ha desarrollado una terminal totalmente multimodal con conexiones marítima, ferroviaria y por carretera, que ha llegado a ser un enclave estratégico para la Unión Europea. En este proyecto,se estudian las actuaciones, planes estratégicos y tendencias de futuro que han convertido el puerto en un centro industrial-logístico competitivo. Se analizan la zona de influencia, la intermodalidad, los sectores más influyentes y el corredor Madrid-SevillaCanarias, uno de los tráficos más importantes que recibe el puerto anualmente. Además, se realiza un análisis del tráfico portuario según los tipos de carga que pasan por el puerto desde 2010, año que comienza a funcionar la esclusa del puerto, a 2020, cuando comienza la pandemia provocada por el virus SARS-CoV-2.

The Port of Seville is the only inland maritime port in Spain. Its location and development have been influenced by historical facts such as the discovery of America. Recently, its development has been marked by new trends in international trade. As a result, the port has become a multi-modal terminal with sea, rail, and road connections, which has become a strategic area for the European Union. In this project, we study the actions, strategic plans, and future trends that have turned the port into a competitive logistic and industrial center. We analyze areas of influence, intermodality, the most influential sectors, and the Madrid-Seville-Canary Islands corridor, due to the fact that this is one of the most important traffics entering the port annually. Furthermore, we analyze the port traffic regarding the kinds of charges in the port since 2010, when the lock of the port started to work, until 2020 when the pandemics caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus began.
