Una mirada hacia Sancti Petri: interpretación territorial y nueva lectura para el poblado pesquero

Abstract

La península de Sancti Petri es un lugar con un valor paisajístico indudable, suposición estratégica en la costa de Cádiz la ha llevado a convertirse en un enclave de gran trascendencia territorial a lo largo de la historia. Tras el derribo de las edificaciones que pertenecieron al antiguo poblado almadrabero, la península presenta en la actualidad una apariencia de abandono. Existen una serie de aspectos que distorsionan su imagen y que dificultan su relación con el paisaje y la conexión con el mar, claves que constituyen la esencia del lugar. En esta línea, conoceremos la historia del poblado pesquero con el fin de realizar una interpretación territorial. Asimismo, serán planteadas unas directrices de intervención como primeras pinceladas de cara a efectuar una reordenación del territorio en pos de recuperar y rehabilitar el lugar.

The peninsula of Sancti Petri is a place characterised by an undeniable landscape value, its strategic position on the coast of Cadiz has allowed it to become a settlement of great territorial importance throughout history. After the demolition of the buildings that belonged to the old ‘almadrabero’ settlement, the peninsula has currently an appearance of abandonment. There are a number of aspects that distort its image and that hinder its relationship with the landscape and the connection with the sea, key features that constitute the essence of the place. In this line, the history of the fishing village will be exposed, in order to make a territorial interpretation. In addition, some intervention guidelines will be proposed to give insights into how to carry out a reordering of the territory in order to recover and rehabilitate the place.
