Fotografía feminista y activista: Nan Goldin y Ashley Armitage

Abstract

En el presente trabajo académico se lleva a cabo un breve recorrido por el papel de la figura femenina en la cultura y el discurso artístico, revisándose los aportes que han realizado el feminismo y la perspectiva de género en la representación artística de la misma. Se analiza además cómo ha sido la relación mantenida entre la mujer y la disciplina fotográfica y el surgimiento de una corriente de fotografía feminista, reivindicativa y de tinte social. Dentro de la misma se encuadran las artistas Nan Goldin y Ashley Armitage, cuya obra se analiza dentro del marco de la fotografía documental más intimista y las nuevas vertientes fotográficas de rasgos mixtos y exposición en redes sociales.

This academic work makes a brief tour of the role of the female figure in culture and artistic discourse, talking as well about what were the contributions of feminism and the gender perspective in the art world. It also analyzes how the relationship has been between women and the photographic discipline and the emergence of a current of feminist, vindictive and social photography. Within it are the artists Nan Goldin and Ashley Armitage, whose work is analyzed within the framework of the most intimate documentary photography and the new photographic aspects of mixed features and exposure on social networks.
