El paisaje en la representación de obras civiles históricas: notas sobre Málaga y el Acueducto de San Telmo

Abstract

En las últimas décadas, la dimensión histórica del territorio ha quedado-en muchos casos- oculta tras la construcción de grandes infraestructuras. Entre otros motivos, el a veces indiscriminado desarrollo urbano y el cese de ciertas actividades productivas participan del desvanecimiento de esta componente colectiva inherente al paisaje. Si bien el conocimiento de la historia es una fase imprescindible para la adecuada valoración y protección ambiental y cultural del territorio, en muchas ocasiones resulta complicado documentar su pasado reciente, evitando estudios limitados a su estructura física. A este respecto, el análisis pormenorizado de la documentación técnica de obras civiles históricas, a través de planimetrías originales e información catastral disponible, permite recomponer escenarios que de otro modo pasan inadvertidos e intuir cuáles fueron las claves de su configuración. Este trabajo tiene por caso de estudio el Acueducto de San Telmo en Málaga, ideado y construido a finales del siglo XVIII y protegido como Bien de Interés Cultural en la categoría de Sitio Histórico en el año 2009

In recent decades, the historical dimension of the territory has been - in many cases - hidden behind the construction of large infrastructures. Among other reasons, the indiscriminate urban development and the cessation of certain productive activities contribute to the disappearance of this shared component inherent in the landscape. Although the knowledge of the history is an essential phase for the fair valuation and environmental and cultural protection of the territory, it is complicated to document its recent past in many occasions, avoiding studies limited to its physical structure. In this regard, the detailed analysis of technical documentation of historical civil works, through original plans and cadastral information available, allows us to reconstruct scenarios that otherwise go unnoticed and intuit what the keys to their configuration were. The case study of this work is the Aqueduct of San Telmo in Malaga, designed and built at the end of the 18th century and protected as an Asset of Cultural Interest in the Historic Site category in 2009.
