This research analyzes bullying from the perspective of primary and secondary teachers. This is an extremely important topic in the comparative educational stages, since at this age it is when the human being finishes forging his personality. This is a study carried out, between March and April 2020, to 227 teachers through three evaluation instruments containing 84 items, through which to investigate knowledge, attitudes, self-perception of effectiveness, as well as the coping strategies often presented by these teachers in situations of peer abuse. The quantitative analyses carried out using the average, the ANOVA, the Pearson chi-square tests and the post hoc tests show significant differences between the teachers, based on the common characteristics and the family environment of both the bully and the victim, strategies that would recommend to the student who is being bullied, how to talk to the harassers and their parents, how to work with the bully and, even, there are big differences around the importance they attach to bullying in general. For this reason, and as a result of the results obtained, the continuous training of teachers at all stages of education is an essential question for improving the atmosphere of coexistence in any school. |
