Eficacia de programas C.RE.CER de tratamiento intensivo, integral y multidisciplinar de pacientes con traumatismo craneoencefálico: valores médico-legales

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se justifica la necesidad de tratamientos integrales, intensivos y multidisciplinares para la rehabilitación de los pacientes con traumatismo craneoencefálico (TCE) y se ofrecen datos sobre la eficacia del Programa de Rehabilitación Integral, y Multidisciplinar C.RE.CER. El estudio se realizó teniendo en cuenta no solo los aspectos clínicos de la rehabilitación sino también enmarcándolo dentro del ámbito jurídico en el que se ven envueltos gran parte de los traumatismos craneoencefálicos, principalmente cuando son ocasionados por accidentes de tráfico. Los resultados demuestran una alta eficacia de los tratamientos en la mayoría de los pacientes, donde se obtienen reducciones superiores al 70% en los déficits emocionales y más del 60% en la recuperación global de los pacientes que realizaron los programas. Asimismo, se ponen en evidencia algunas de las limitaciones de los Baremos de indemnizaciones recogidos en la legislación española.

This paper was designed to evaluate the integral rehabilitation treatment for patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI), and data about effectiveness of the C.RE.CER intensive, holistic and multidisciplinary rehabilitation program is given. The study was done keeping in mind not only the clinical aspects of rehabilitation but also setting it within the judicial real in which a great number of brain injury cases are found, mainly when caused by traffic accidents. A sample of 10 severe TBI patients was studied, aged between 19 and 39. All the patients were assesed at the beginning and end of the treatment, using a neuropsychological test battery, while being treated with the C.RE.CER intensive, holistic and multidisciplinary rehabilitation program. The results show a high effectiveness of treatment in the majority of the patients where reductions of more than 70% were obtained in emotional deficits and more than 60% in the global recovery of the patients than carried out the programs. This paper also shows some limitations of the criterio for compensation in Spanish lefgislation.
