El sentido de Frege, estado mental de segundo orden: replanteamiento pragmático-cognitivo de algunas cuestiones fregeanas

Abstract

Tras replantear en un mareo cognitivo e interpersonal algunas cuestiones fregeanas, proponemos: I. Para aquéllos cuyo conocimiento desborda al del hablante, el enunciado tendría sólo sentido. II. El nombre que funciona como sujeto del enunciado tendría igualmente sólo sentido, porque es para el hablante una visión ajena, una visión incompleta o incorrecta, que por ello requiere ser transformada por el predicado. III. Ni al nombre ni a ninguna palabra puede asignársele referencia: las palabras son categorías sintácticas, no correlatos de parcelas de la realidad. La referencia tradicionalmente atribuida al nombre no es realmente de éste, sino del enunciado.

Frege’s analysis of Sinn and Bedeutung is reviewed from acognitive and interpersonal perspective. My theses are three. I. For a hearer whose knowledge exceeds the speakerls, the sentence has only sense. II Likewise, the noun, as sentence subject, has only sense; it is for the speaker not his but another’s image of an item of the world, an incomplete or incorreel image that requires to be trasformed by the predicate. III. Words do not have references: tbey sbould be interpreted as syntactical categories, not as correlates of items ofthe world. And the reference traditionally attributed to nouns should be ascribed to the fulí sentence.
