Territorios Encontrados II /yermo, hábitat y luz/

Abstract

Concebido, nacido y criado en Almería, Pablos Caballero aborda su trabajo fin de máster desde una lucha interna entre: la incapacidad de deshacerse del hándicap estético de aquel territorio donde creció y la necesidad de incorporarlo a su discurso artístico. Es por lo cual, TERRITORIOS ENCONTRADOS II continúa, como una secuela de su trabajo fin de grado, la investigación acerca del papel, que puede o no tener, la configuración paisajística tan peculiar de esta región en el mundo del arte, concretamente, de los invernaderos en la costa occidental de Almería. Así, como si de una autopsia se tratara, este proyecto artístico se propone desgranar a fondo los tres principales elementos que infieren, modifican y conforman dichas construcciones hortícolas, para así recombinarlos, adulterando y redefiniendo su significado y, de este modo, convertirse en piezas que pertenecen al plano de lo artístico, comprendidas dentro de una sala expositiva.

Conceived, born and raised in Almería, Pablos Caballero approaches his master’s thesis from an internal struggle between: the inability to get rid of the aesthetic handicap of that territory where he grew up and the need to incorporate it into his artistic discourse. It is for this reason that TERRITORIOS ENCONTRADOS II continues, as a sequel to his final degree project, the research on the role, which may or may not have, the landscape configuration so peculiar to this region in the art world, specifically, greenhouses on the western coast of Almería. Thus, as if it were an autopsy, this artistic project sets out to break down the elements that infer, modify and shape horticultural constructions, in order to recombine them, adulterating and redefining their meaning and, thus, becoming pieces that belong to the artistic view, included within an exhibition hall.
