Las divas internacionales del pop como iconos LGTB+

Abstract

La cultura popular ha ido creando poco a poco a personas como iconos, los cuales sirven y han servido de referencia para una gran multitud. Del mismo modo, dentro del ámbito musical, han destacado las grandes divas del pop, cuyo contenido musical está hecho para ser consumido por muchas personas y para ser fácilmente reconocible y memorable. El género pop en sí consigue afianzarse muchos seguidores de todo el mundo, por lo que el juicio de la diva resulta crucial a la hora de hacer llegar un mensaje específico. Es por eso por lo que, vista la repercusión que estas cantantes pueden llegar a tener y la magnitud de sus actos, adquieren una labor importante a la hora de dar visibilidad a ciertos temas, tomando como principal en este caso el relativo a la realidad de la comunidad LGTB+ y a sus obstáculos y otros inconvenientes adjuntos, así como otros temas a los que inmerecidamente se enfrentan ellas y otros colectivos, ya sea por ejemplo la desigualdad de género. En ciertos momentos de su carrera profesional, algunas de estas divas del pop tienden a ser consideradas como iconos gais o LGTB+ por sus trayectorias. La investigación que se expone aquí pretende analizar los elementos (declaraciones, filantropía, colaboraciones, dificultades, letras, videoclips, etc.) que rodean a tres divas internacionales del pop (Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga y Katy Perry) y que las convierten en iconos LGTB+ para la sociedad.

Pop culture has been creating people as icons, which serve and have served as a reference for a large crowd. In the same way, within the musical field, great pop divas have stood out, whose musical content is made to be consumed by many people and to be easily recognizable and memorable. Pop genre itself manages to establish many followers around the world, so the judgment of the diva is crucial when it comes to getting a specific message across. That is why, given the repercussion that these singers can eventually have and the magnitude of their actions, they acquire an important task when it comes to giving visibility to certain topics, taking as main in this case the one related to the reality of the LGTB+ community and its obstacles and other associated inconveniences, as well as other issues that they and other groups face undeservedly, be it for example gender inequality. At certain moments in their professional careers, some of these pop divas tend to be considered gay or LGTB+ icons due to their careers. The research presented here aims to analyse the elements (statements, philanthropy, collaborations, difficulties, lyrics, videoclips, etc.) that surround three international pop divas (Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry) and that make them LGTB+ icons for the society.
