dc.description.abstract | The word dwelling is defined as a building that has been built to be inhabited. The most widespread and globalized way ofliving is the result of the interpretation of different forms of thought and architectural movements. Since the beginning of this century, both of them have been modeling the concept of the current domestic space. During this evolution process, there have been countless confrontations among architectural approaches concerning housing, leading to clear limitations that have survived until today. In order to enrich different points of view on alternative ways of living, housing as a paradigm of stability is put in crisis through how movies treat domestic space. Throughout this work, the interferences that exist between cinema and architectures how limitations that can be observed in three domestic spaces from three different movies, depending on the people who use these spaces. The transgressions of privacy and instability of space caused by the characters will force the house to lose its static constitution to become the fundamentalelement that fills the plot with complete meaning. The analysis of the cinematic space from an architectural point of view is extrapolated to three scales: the urban scale, the domestic scale and the social one. All of them are intermingled in order to analyze the transgressions that challenge the pillar on which the current concept of domestic space is settled. The overlap between how cinema and architecture treat space enriches approaches such as the one proposed here, and values the interdisciplinary character that both arts share. | es |
