Análisis de la figura de Greta Thunberg en la prensa española. Críticas y apoyos en el marco de la crisis climática

Abstract

La evolución del movimiento del cambio climático desde los años setenta hasta hoy ha cambiado por completo las necesidades del modelo de consumo, el Sistema de Mercado y la política internacional y nacional, alterando la agenda política y mediática. En este proceso evolutivo los medios de comunicación han condicionado el conocimiento y la implicación de la población con respecto a la emergencia climática. La cobertura informativa está determinada por los intereses y la agenda política de las organizaciones internacionales, los gobiernos y los distintos grupos de poder. Los últimos años del movimiento de lucha contra el cambio climático han estado protagonizados por la joven Greta Thunberg, que se ha convertido en la cara más visible del proceso. Como personaje protagonista, se postula como un posible elemento herético integrado, alterando una parte del sistema y siendo utilizada por éste al mismo tiempo. Los objetos de estudio que ocupan este trabajo son: la perspectiva histórica de la evolución del cambio climático, los diferentes postulados ante el proceso, los grupos de influencia y poder que han tomado partida, la creación del personaje de Greta Thunberg y su discurso y las diferentes reacciones por parte de los grupos de poder ante la aparición de la joven activista y los Fridays for Future, a través de la opinión en prensa española.

The evolution of the movement for climate change has completely changed, from the 1970s until today, the needs of the consumption model, the Market System and international and national politics, altering the political and media agenda. In this evolutionary process, the media have conditioned the knowledge and involvement of the population regarding the climate emergency. Information coverage is determined by the interests and political agenda of international organizations, governments and different power groups. The last years of the movement to fight climate change have been starred by the young Greta Thunberg, who has become the most visible face of the process. As the main character, she postulates as a possible integrated heretical element, altering a part of the system and being used by it at the same time. The objects of study that occupy this work are: the historical perspective of the evolution of climate change, the different postulates regarding the process, the groups of influence and power that have taken part, the creation of the character of Greta Thunberg and her speech, and the different reactions by the powerful groups to the appearance of the young activist and on Fridays for the future, through opinion in the Spanish press.
