El villano protagonista en la ficción: Killing Eve

Abstract

El recorrido del mundo audiovisual es muy amplio, desde la aparición del cine por primera vez en 1895 hasta la actualidad, donde las series ocupan el primer puesto en consumo audiovisual. Vivimos un momento de máximo esplendor para las series en televisión y en las distintas plataformas que surgen para un consumo más rápido e inmediato de la ficción. La calidad de estas y la complejidad que muchas muestran, no han ido sino incrementándose con el paso de los años al ver el gran impacto cultural que tienen en el mundo entero. Con esta evolución de la ficción, la manera de construir a los personajes ha ido cambiando, por lo que la figura del villano ha evolucionado hasta formas y comportamientos nunca antes vistos. El gran mosaico de villanos que existe es inabarcable y lo más interesante es la simpatía y el fanatismo que despiertan en el público, tan grande que hay series que, aún protagonizadas por un maravilloso héroe, son movidas y seguidas gracias al villano. ¿Por qué causa tanto fanatismo la figura del villano? En este trabajo se busca comprender por qué ocurre esto y por qué simpatizamos con una de las villanas mas populares y despiadadas de la actualidad, Villanelle en Killing Eve.

The path of the audiovisual world is very wide, from the beginning of the cinema for the first time in 1895 to the present day, where the series occupy the first place in audiovisual consumption. We are living a moment of maximum splendor for television series and on the different platforms that emerge for a faster and more immediate consumption of fiction. The quality of these and the complexity that many situations have only increased over the years as they see the great cultural impact they have on the entire world. With this evolution of fiction, the way of constructing the characters has been changing, so that the figure of the villain has evolved to figures and behaviors never seen before. The great mosaic of villains that exist is endless and the most interesting is the sympathy and fanaticism that awakens in the public, so great that there are series that, even starring a wonderful hero, are followed thanks to the villain. Why does the figure of the villain cause so much fanaticism? This work tries to understand why this happens and why we sympathize with one of the most popular and ruthless villains of today, Villanelle in Killing Eve.
