El tratamiento con implantes y su uso para la reposición fija de dientes ausentes, así como el servir de apoyo a las prótesis ofrece multitud de ventajas con respecto a las prótesis convencionales, entre ellas la mejor aceptación del paciente y el aumento de la funcionalidad. La realización de impresiones precisas es un factor clave para conseguir un buen ajuste pasivo, el cual es esencial para el éxito a largo plazo del tratamiento implantológico. Si bien existen múltiples técnicas de impresión es difícil saber cuál es la mejor para alcanzar este objetivo. La intención de este trabajo fue la de revisar, con técnicas de odontología basada en la evidencia, la literatura publicada hasta la fecha y verificar si existen diferencias en la precisión obtenida respecto a las técnicas de impresión más utilizadas en implantoprótesis, como son la técnica a cubeta abierta y a cubeta cerrada. Debido a la naturaleza de los artículos revisados, no podemos afirmar que existan diferencias entre ambas técnicas de impresión desde la evidencia científica, por lo que son necesarios un mayor número de estudios de alta evidencia para poder realizar una conclusión al respecto. |
